It Can Be Done!

Tonight was a bust night and after a long day I was not feeling motivated!  However, I tried to find my inner motivation and fight the urge to jump on the couch in my Jammies.  Instead I got in a workout, showered, and made dinner all while watching a six month old.

So here is my motivation to you to do it too!!

Now don't mind the valentine towls still hanging cleaning and switching to spring decorations will happen this weekend.
Hope each of you is feeling accomplished this cold Tuesday as well.

Close Reading

So as I am sure many of your have heard about close reading and the purpose of using it to allow your students to work with a text.  Today  I am going to share a little about some close reading strategies I am planning to use in my classroom.

Last week we had two snow days, which gave me a lot of time to research and create lessons! I came across another blog featuring a close reading strategy that I plan on using this week with my kiddos. The strategy is called the close reading OREO - Check out more about it: here.

Even though it is the middle of the year, I think this is a great opportunity to review and reignite the idea of close reading.  Especially after so many SNOW Days and Delays!

In addition to that lesson I plan on using some other materials I created as well.  This activities align directly with 3rd Grade - Anchor Standard 2 - informational. Feel free to use in your own room as well!
You can pick them up here for free!

Also here is a shot of some of the Snow Day Snuggles we squeezed in as well!  Look for another new post discussing baby sign language! I am very excited to begin using that with him as well.
